We are Chris, the Scorch-Scribe, an artist, poet and pyrographer who writes in rhyme and draws in fire. And Heidi the Shutter-Nutter, who’s Canadian eh, a programmer and photographer who loves to escape from her computer to capture the natural world. We love working together to come up with sometimes whacky, original designs.
What we do
We run a small business from our home in Devizes (Wiltshire, England) creating artwork, which we print ourselves and via various small businesses that have excellent eco credentials.
We create art for your eyes, music for your ears and frivolity for your funny bone. We make oodles of doodles and can’t resist a good pun, or a little word foolery.
You can enjoy our work on these channels ….
You can also find us on TeePublic and Redbubble, which have a wide range of products and can offer better shipping options for some countries.
If you like what we do you can become a supporter on Patreon for as little as a £1, where you can find exclusive content, early access to new designs and a private Discord channel. Alternatively you can visit our shop or just Buy us a Coffee!
The Artist normally known as Chris

I have been doodling since I first picked up a pencil. My first love (sorry, Heidi) is graffiti. I have tried a few different mediums over the years, and am currently enjoying creating digital art, particulary vector based. I am also working on converting our shed into an art studio so I can get carried away with some spray cans!
At school the careers advisor recomended I become a prooof raeder. I really wanted to become a sign writer. So I particularly enjoy the opportunities I get to create signs for groups and businesses.
When the children give me a moments peace, I like to disturb it with my Fender Jaguar, impressive amp and excessive collection of peddles.
Chief cat herder Heidi

I can’t draw for toffee, but I love having the opportunity to be creative. My favourite is working with Chris where I can describe a vision I have and watch him turn it into something beautiful or take components he has drawn and combine them with backgrounds and fonts to complete designs and make them ready for printing in different shapes and sizes.
In ‘real life’ I am a C# software developer, and as a sideline I design and maintain WordPress websites for friends and family.
I love books, cats, tea and getting out with my camera, although the kids have reduced the opportunities for anything other than photos of them! I also love writing poetry, particularly haiku’s or as Chris calls them – HeidiKu’s!

Our Story
We started Hectic Eclectic back in 2013, when we lived in the wilds of Wales as a means of sharing Chris’ art and poetry and Heidi’s photography, and as a platform to sell some of Chris’ pyrography creations to prevent our house from becoming overrun!
A year later we moved to the Somerset levels, within site and influence of Glastonbury Tor, where we kept a small flock of Shetland sheep, an eclectic collection of poultry, a cowardy-custard-cat called Ollie and a rather belligerent Charlie Chow.
We returned to Wales, this time on the outskirts of the Brecon Beacons, where our human family doubled in size. Our sheep also had sheep of their own, and then moved to the farm next door where apparently the grass was greener.
Sadly age overcame Charlie in 2018, we miss him everyday.

At the end of 2020 we emigrated back to England, this time to delightful Devizes in wonderful Wiltshire. We’re a stone’s throw from awesome Avebury and can see a white horse from our bedroom window.
For 2021 we decided we needed a new look, so we refreshed and renamed to ARTHE.
