Today I celebrated a year of having the best job ever! I work part-time from home with fab people, talking about gardening and developing apps that I want to use. In fact part of my job is to use the software!! I’m really not sure how it can be called work!

I first started using the GrowVeg garden planner back in 2008 in my Canadian garden. After I was made redundant in 2016, I spotted a software developer job advert on their Facebook page. Very fortunately I convinced them that they should hire me, and I spent a very enjoyable 5 months (sadly it was a short term contract) working on their Big Bug Hunt project.
I had loved working for the company so much that when my maternity allowance ran out last year and I needed to earn some money, I got back in touch. They didn’t need a developer but they were looking for a Customer Service rep / QA tester. It took a little soul searching, but I decided that a part-time role with less stress was the way to go.
A year on I have expanded the original role and now amongst other things get to play on Flickr. I even have a little development project to keep me writing code!
If you love gardening, taking pictures of bugs or fancy being involved in a fantastic citizen science project then come check us out.
