We are English Heritage members and love to go off exploring the incredible history they are preserving.
Farleigh Hungerford Castle began in the 14th century and is in a beautiful valley of the river Frome, on the border between Wiltshire and Somerset. Sadly it was not open on the day we visited so we were only able to wander around the grounds, but even that was well worth it.
Nunney Castle is a striking and picturesque moated castle that was built in the 1370s. It is quite spectacular, from the front you would think it was still intact.
